Winter Lovin' in the Aspen Mountains

A day on the ice, last Winter, at Sylvan Lake in Eagle, COA day on the ice, last Winter, at Sylvan Lake in Eagle, CO
Eagle, CO - So the Winter season is once again upon us and with it comes the wonderful world of Winter Sports! I just LOVE the winter! I love saying it, hearing it, writing it and most definitely immersing myself in it! I've heard it said, “I came for the winter, but stay for the summer.” Not me! This chick came for the winter and stays for the winter!
Now I didn't always feel this way about the 3rd season... I spent my “younger” years in Up-state, NY where the winter was far from being my friend. The humidity made for sweltering summers but even more painful for me were the bone chilling winters! The climate was a challenging part of my youth and so after one snowy season in the “Valley” I knew I had found some new stomping grounds! Very little humidity, in comparison to the area I grew up in, sold me on Colorado and the rest of what comes with the great state has sealed me.

One for the Aspen ladies...Finding the Right "Fit" helps.

The girls and I, pre The "girls" and I, pre "lift", at my 20th HS Reunion...
So, for as long as I can remember I've always been big breasted. Yup I said it and not 'cause I'm so proud but because I know that there are lot's of other women out there who know the down side to being well endowed which is why my recent discovery has had such an effect on this big boobed chick!

For all of the women out there longing for big breasts who aren't aware: Having big boobs is unfortunately much more of a pain in the BACK and jerk magnet rather than a casting agent or model search attractor.
I spent most of my young adult life hiding my "sisters" behind UN-padded bras and baggy sweaters. I was almost always uncomfortable with them. I've always been pretty insecure and self conscious so when my gals started to grow in I just tried to pretend they weren't really there, which wasn't so bright because when they did fully arrive I had no idea what to do with them!

I can't remember much about my 1st bra days but I think that I became friends with the sports bra pretty early on. It held them in place, for the most part, which was pretty important to me at the time and still is today ;)

A Sweet Spot in Aspen - Paradise Bakery and Cafe

My yummy Alpine Strawberry and Chocolate Fudge Brownie Gelato in a Waffle Cone from Paradise Bakery and Cafe and in Aspen! My yummy Alpine Strawberry and Chocolate Fudge Brownie Gelato in a Waffle Cone from Paradise Bakery and Cafe and in Aspen!
Aspen, Co - I LOVE sugar! Yup you heard me right. I love it in just about every form but must admit that I truly prefer it in the form of a deliciously decadent sweet treat!
I think my initial love was born out of the fact that my Mom loves to bake. While growing up I was lucky enough to have a kitchen filled with fresh baked brownies, cakes, crepes, cookies, etc. and though I didn't gain her baking skills I have carried my love for sweetness with me on my journey through life thus far. In addition to the baked goods I also have a love for ice cream. That love was born not in the kitchen I grew up in but rather in the local ice cream shops we would frequent on family outings. I recall two specific spots, back in Upstate New York, that I frequented fairly often while young and throughout my high school years! Dairy Frost and Udderly Delicious were my favorites and I went with family, friends, my dog and on occasion by myself!

Tattooing a moment in time at the "Ink Lounge" in Edwards, CO.

Ink Lounge Edwards, CO: Inside view of The Ink Lounge Edwards, CO: Inside view of The "Ink Lounge" located in Edwards, Co.Edwards, CO - So I recently had the distinct pleasure of spending some time with my step-daughter Courtney and her cousin Cassie. They came down from Alaska and having them with us was fantastic!
Most of our visits have taken place in the Mid-West, because it's sort of home-base and easier for lot's of family to get together all at once, but this journey was extra special due to the fact that we got to have 7 days with the “girls” all to ourselves! They are 18 and 19, so not really girls anymore, but from the perspective of a 39 and 40 year old they are still, and sadly for them always will be, girls to us.
During their visit we did lot's of things: Shopping in Aspen, swimming at the Glenwood Hot Springs, dining at Moe's BBQ, etc... but an extra special part of the visit for me came when the gals decided they wanted to mark a moment in time in the form of a tattoo. I almost couldn't believe my ears when the word tattoo was first mentioned! I myself had been longing to mark another moment of my own, but was now getting the opportunity to be a part of my step-daughters first, her cousins second while getting my third! Crazy man crazy...

The Beauty of Aspen's Fall Foliage

Fall Foliage in Aspen, Co: Fall in Aspen, Co brings paints the local landscape with a myriad of colors.Fall Foliage in Aspen, Co: Fall in Aspen, Co brings paints the local landscape with a myriad of colors.ASPEN, CO - So once again the Fall is upon us and with it comes the eye candy that many of us look forward to all year long! I'm a fan of sensory overload and this is the time of year that my eyes get their fix!
Being that I'm originally from the Northeast I was blessed with visually stunning colors coming from all directions this time of year! I remember hearing people talk about Vermont and how folks flocked to the state for the Fall colors but I never felt as though I was missing anything because New York trees filled my eyes with vibrant colors every year without disappointment.
