Power of Four Mountaineering Race, Last Chance to Register.

Ready for the ultimate mountaineering challenge? Registration is still open for The Power of Four Mountaineering Race, Saturday, March 3, 2012. This physically and mentally demanding race challenges competitors to conquer a course stretching across Buttermilk, Snowmass, Aspen Highlands and Aspen Mountain, gaining over 10,000 vertical feet. If you think you're up for the four-stage challenge, snag a teammate or two, and sign-up for the race. If the full-course seems to be a bit out of reach, consider the half-course race, which covers covers stages three and four.

The Mountaineering Race is a team challenge. The cost is now $190 per team ($170 +$20), as we are down to the wire with just one week left before the race. There are multiple categories for entry including: Men, Women, Mixed, Vets, so you'll have the opportunity to see how you measure up against the best in your bracket.

This is the real deal folks. Mountaineering requires serious dedication, extensive knowledge and peak athletic ability. Racers will be skinning, hiking and climbing their way across some of the Rocky Mountains' most esteemed terrain. All racers must be prepared with proper backcountry gear including a beacon, shovel, prove skins windshell and helmet.
