Aspen, CO - This Friday, head out to downtown Aspen for a star lit blockparty, the annual CORE Party. The event will take place on the corner of Galena Street and Cooper Avenue, is free and open to the public. So whether you're visiting for the weekend, or live the Aspen dream year round, come out and celebrate the resurgence of Spring. The festivities will include a thirst quenching beer garden, an exhibit at the Aspen Art Museum and an 8 pm performance by headliners, Railroad Earth. This New Jersey based bluegrass sextet is sure to have you dancing in the streets.
Modern day troubadours, Railroad Earth travel the country to share their authentic bluegrass sound paired with lyrics so touching they'll paint you right into their story. The talent and energy during a performance is almost too much for one stage to contain. They transcend the traditional concert experience, inviting the crowd to take part in the lyrical narratives echoing the stories of the American dream, from vantage points both sorrowful and rejoicing.
The band's multi-faceted instrumental range is a true testament to the level of musical craftsmanship that makes up Railroad Earth. The line up includes: Todd Sheaffer (guitar, vocals), Tim Carbone (violin, accordion, electric guitar, vocals) John Skehan (mandolin, bouzouki, vocals), Andy Goessling (acoustic guitars, banjo, dobro, mandolin, flute, pennywhistle, saxophones, vocals) Carey Harmon (drums, hand percussion, vocals) and Andrew Altman (bass, vocals).
Can't get enough Railroad Earth? Head over to the Bellyup Aspen for their second show of the evening. Doors open at 10:30 pm, with the performance set to start at 11 pm. TIckets are $30 in advance and $32 at the door if they're still available.
